Veterinary Technology Program Application


Are you ready to start your journey?

If you've completed the following, scroll down to our application checklist to make sure you have everything you need to get started!

  • You've enrolled as a student at Texas A&M University-Kingsville
  • You've read the Essential Functions for Veterinary Technology document and meet the essential skills and technical standards to perform functions required for the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Veterinary Technology Program and the veterinary profession.
  • You've read the Criminal History Information document and do not have a criminal history that will prevent you from achieving employment in the veterinary field or that will make you ineligible to sit for a state licensing examination.
  • You've read and signed the Rabies Risk Acknowledgement Form and understand the student pre-exposure rabies vaccination policy.
  • You've completed the prerequisite courses outlined in the 2021 Degree Plan for Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Animal-Wildlife Veterinary Technology).*
  • You've completed 40 hours of observation with a veterinarian and/or credentialed veterinary technician/technologist in a veterinary practice.
  • You've obtained three (3) Recommendation Forms completed by employers, educators, members of professional leadership, or community leaders familiar with your character and work performance. 

*Sophomore first semester courses in progress can be indicated as such on the application.

You will need the following:

  • Your academic history including all colleges/universities attended
  • Unofficial transcript copies to be attached to the application.  These may be digital or scanned.
  • Your signed Rabies Risk Acknowledgement Form.  This form may be digital or scanned and attached.
  • Your completed Veterinary Hospital Observation Form.  This form should be scanned and attached.
  • Record of any related certifications, participation in veterinary-related activities, or participation in animal-related activities.  Proof of completion should be uploaded for certifications.
  • Three (3) Recommendation Forms.  Your reference may send this form directly to vetnursing@tamuk.edu if you waived your right to view the document.  These forms may be completed digitally or scanned. We do not accept recommendation letters.

  • This application form cannot be saved for completion at a later date.  Navigating away from this page will clear all form information.
  • Please be prepared to fill out all required fields and attached required documents prior to starting your submission.
  • We recommend reviewing the Application Questionnaire section and preparing your 100 word or less answers in a word processing document.  Your answers can then be transferred to the application using the copy/paste function.
  • Please only submit the application once.  If additional documents need to be submitted, please email them to vetnursing@tamuk.edu
  • Check your TAMUK email account for updates.  You should receive a confirmation email after submission.
