Financial Aid

Request for Financial Assistance Due to Hardship and Unforeseen Circumstances

Click here if you were affected by COVID-19

Students who have experienced a hardship or who have encountered an unforeseen circumstance impacting their ability to pay for college may be eligible for additional financial assistance (exceptional aid).  Depending on the circumstance, the additional financial assistance may come from adjustments to federal and state grants as allowed by law or through institutional grant aid, primarily funded through the generosity of Texas A&M-Kingsville alumni and donors. Please note that some financial aid is only available to students after they have exhausted all other options.  In order for the Office of Financial Aid to make a determination of eligibility for this exceptional aid, students should meet the following requirements:

  • Have completed and submitted a Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the aid year in which the student is requesting funds.
  • Be currently enrolled.
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) conditions.
  • Demonstrate unmet financial need.
  • Have completed all paperwork required by federal and state entities to make a determination as to eligibility (e.g. no outstanding verification documents).

*Due to high application volume, please allow 7-14 business days for review once submitted.

Complete the information below and attach all documentation which supports your request.  Your request and supporting documentation will be reviewed by our Hardship and Unforeseen Circumstances Committee.  If awarded and eligible for a refund, you will receive the funds through your refund preference selected on BankMobile. Regardless of whether you are awarded financial assistance, the Committee may be able to refer you to additional resources that will assist you during this time of need.
