University Joins City of Kingsville for Youth STEM Camp

The City of Kingsville and Texas A&M University-Kingsville are partnering for the Summer 2016 Youth STEM Camp, taking place July 7-8. 

This is a camp for ages 7-11, centered around the STEM disciplines—science, technology, engineering and math. 

The Youth STEM Camp will meet at Dick Kleberg Park in Kingsville. The first day of camp, on Thursday, July 7, includes Library Fun Zone activities and constructing a container to protect an egg from a drop. 

The next day of camp, Friday, July 8, the campers will test their egg protectors in an Egg Drop Competition on the A&M-Kingsville campus. The campers will also tour the university’s Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering. 

The Youth STEM Camp is limited to 30 campers. Registration is $20 per camper, with a no refund policy. Lunch is provided both days. 

Pre-registration is encouraged and takes place at the Dick Kleberg Park Office, located at 501 Santiago Park Lane, May 26-June 20, from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

The City of Kingsville & Texas A&M University-Kingsville Summer 2016 Youth STEM Camp is a Drug-Free and Bully-Free Event.
