Dean's Colloquium features Fulbright Scholar, Greek myths

The College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will present their annual Dean’s Colloquium at noon Friday, April 28, in the Blue Room in Sam Fore Hall.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Vyara Dimitrova Kalfina, currently a Fulbright Scholar at University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is an assistant professor in the history and theory of culture department at St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia in Bulgaria.

About Dr. Vyara Dimitrova Kalfina

Kalfina received her doctorate from the University of Sofia from the Department of History and Theory of Culture. Her topic of study was Ritual aspects of the mythological motives and historical narratives of violent death in Greek cultural context. She also earned her master’s degree from University of Sofia.
