The Jazz Program at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will host its 34th Annual Jazz Bash at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, in Jones Auditorium.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The Jazz Bash is the Texas A&M-Kingsville Jazz Program’s annual fall concert extravaganza that features many of the university’s jazz groups. This year’s featured groups include the Latin Jazz Ensemble directed by Glynn Garcia, lecturer; Jazz Band III, directed by Dr. Kyle Millsap, assistant professor; Jazz Band II directed by James Warth, associate professor; and Jazz Band I directed by Dr. Paul Hageman, Regents Professor and chair of the music department.

“The Jazz Bash occurs each year on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and has become a great way to kick off the holiday season,” said Hageman. “This concert will be fun, exciting, relaxing, and will showcase the many talented students within our internationally award-winning jazz program.”

The music performed will display a wide variety of jazz styles including swing, ballad, rock, Latin, fusion, mixed-meter and eclectic.  Some of the selected musical pieces to be performed include Left Bank Express, A Little Minor Booze, Makin’ Whoopee, Samba Del Crow, Hidden Agenda, The Fly by Knights, Nice N Juicy, All of Me, Rabble Rouser, A Child is Born, Dancing Men, Oye Como Va, Mambo UK and Rhythm is Gonna Get You.
