Texas A&M University-Kingsville is joining other universities in the Texas A&M System by offering a degree program in Bryan, Texas at the new RELLIS campus.

Beginning in fall 2019, students at RELLIS can earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in health psychology from Texas A&M-Kingsville.

“We will be offering junior-and senior-level coursework at RELLIS for our B.A. in Psychology.  Transfer students and early college high school graduates who have their freshman and sophomore level coursework completed would be able to continue their education and pursue their degree at RELLIS,” said Dr. Dolores Guerrero, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, which houses the psychology program.

The psychology degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville at the RELLIS Campus promotes critical analyses and creative approaches. The program offers a comprehensive level of quality instruction and research, focusing on a variety of current interests in the field, including the development of attitudes, personalities and motivation.

The B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Health Psychology is only being offered at the RELLIS campus.  Students who are interested in working as health psychologists might work in clinical settings, conduct clinical interviews and behavioral assessments and participate in interventions.  The RELLIS psychology program is for students who are interested in physical well-being, illness and strategies for care and prevention,” Guerrero said.

Upon completion, the students will be prepared to fill the growing need for mental health professionals. Students pursuing the bachelor’s in psychology at RELLIS will receive a degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and participate in graduation ceremonies in Kingsville.

Students interested in the program should submit the Apply Texas transfer application at www.applytexas.org. Students also need to submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended and a $25 application fee.  Early college high school students will apply using the freshman application and must also submit an official high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores.

RELLIS stands for the six Texas A&M Aggies’ core values: respect, excellence, leadership, loyalty, integrity and selfless service.

The RELLIS Academic Alliance is a University System Center, that allows multiple Texas A&M System institutions and agencies, as well as Blinn College, to offer selective degree and certificate programs in one location.

Through partnerships with Texas A&M University System, Blinn College, workforce training organizations and the private sector, RELLIS is the first integrated education, research and testing institution in the state of Texas.
