KINGSVILLE (May 8, 2024) — With its latest collaboration, the Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) Career Engagement office is demonstrating that ‘Once a Javelina, Always a Javelina’ is more than just phrase.
TAMUK Career Engagement has partnered with the world’s No.1 job site and hiring platform Indeed to provide alumni with skills and knowledge required for successful job searches.
The Indeed Job Search Academy, a free virtual training program, offers Javelina alumni access to on-demand job search content and career planning resources that will assist them in achieving career goals on their schedules.
“Indeed, is the No.1 job site in the world with over 250 million unique visitors each month, so it seemed imperative for us to provide a pathway for our alumni to leverage this powerful platform,” Texas A&M-Kingsville Director of Career Engagement and Corporate Relations Ralph Leal said.‘Once a Javelina, always a Javelina’ is more than a saying in Career Engagement, which can be evidenced by our commitment and continuing efforts to build connections and support our amazing alumni in ways that make it convenient for them to use this resource.”
The partnership will introduce co-branded resources for Javelina alumni that include workshops, webinars, a job search platform, company pages, career guide and salary tools.
Within the program, users will focus on job searching, resume writing, interview prep, job offer evaluation and career direction.

Alumni are also encouraged to contact Career Engagement to schedule a virtual appointment if they wish to receive job search assistance beyond Indeed’s Job Search Academy.
“Alumni can schedule an appointment with Career Engagement for job search assistance and also use this resource,” Leal said. “We want to provide alumni with a variety of options to further their career progression well after their graduation date.”
