LTC Victor Diaz


LTC Victor M. Diaz graduated from the United States Military Academy and was commissioned as a Quartermaster Officer in June 2001.  His first duty assignment was in the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina from February 2002 to July 2008.  He served as a Brigade A/S4 in the 325th  Airborne Infantry Regiment (AIR); Class 2,4,7 and Rigger Platoon Leader, and BN S3 in the 782nd Main Support Battalion (MSB); Foxtrot Company Commander in the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment(PIR).  During his tenure in the 82nd Airborne Division, he deployed two times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom as an A/S4 and Company Commander.  He then attended the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course at Fort Benning in July 2008.

                Other assignments include Battalion A/S4 and Echo Ranger Support Company Commander in the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia; Support Operations Officer and Brigade S4 in the 75th Ranger Regiment Headquarters, Fort Benning, Georgia.  During his tenure in the 75th Ranger Regiment, he deployed four times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as a Company Commander and Joint Task Force J4.  He then attended the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), Monterey, California where he earned his Master’s Degree in Defense Analysis under the Special Operations Low Intensity Conflict (SOLIC) Program.  Upon completion of his Intermediate Level Education (ILE) and Master’s Degree, he served as the J4 Operations Officer at Special Operations Command (SOCOM), MacDill AFB, Florida deploying to Africa in support of Operation Octave Shield as a Joint Task Force J4.  Currently serving as the Professor of Military Science at Texas A&M – Kingsville.

                His military schools include: Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, Naval Postgraduate School, Sling Load Inspector Certification Course, Aerial Delivery and Material Course, Joint Professional Military Education I and II, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, and Ranger School. 

                His awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star (one Oak Leaf Cluster), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (eight Oak Leaf Clusters), Joint Service Achievement Medal (one Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (one Oak Leaf Cluster), the Combat Action Badge, the Master Parachutist Badge, the Parachute Rigger Badge, and the Ranger Tab.

                LTC Diaz is married to Sharon and they have four children; Haven (16), Madison (10), Gabriella (7), and Stella-Rae (4).
