Christina Loftin

Instructional Veterinary Nurse I

Christina received her AAS in Veterinary Technology, with an added proficiency in animal shelter management, from Colorado Mountain College in 2008. She then spent several years working as a Certified Veterinary Technician in private practice, the animal shelter industry, and in academia. In 2019, Christina graduated from Mississippi State University (MSU) with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies, and in 2020, she received her MS in Sociology from MSU. While Christina has broad research and teaching interests in veterinary medical technology, public health, and human-animal interactions, she also has social science interests in social inequality, the sociology of veterinary medicine, and community engagement. Her most recent research has been published in journals such as Veterinary Parasitology: Regional Studies and Reports and the National Association of Veterinary Technicians of America Journal.
