Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Math is to provide quality education, research, consulting, and service in the mathematical sciences. The department offers a wide spectrum of courses designed to provide a diverse student population with an insight into the structure and applications of math. The department prepares students to teach, work in industry or government, to pursue advance degrees, and to function as citizens able to reason analytically, independently and make critical judgments.

Message from the Chair
As chair of the Department of Mathematics at Texas A&M University-Kingsville let me welcome you to our department’s website. I hope that it provides the information you seek and I hope also conveys some of the excitement of studying mathematics and statistics at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
The department offers a wide variety of courses in mathematics and statistics at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The department consists of approximately 20 nationally and internationally recognized faculty whose research interests lie in a variety of areas of mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education. In addition, we regularly host visiting scholars. We have organized various international and regional events and we periodically host seminars and presentations, which you are most welcome to attend.
