Porky Championship Belt

KINGSVILLE (June 24, 2024) — Deviating from a normal schedule of appearances and cheering on Texas A&M University-Kingsville student-athletes, Porky the Javelina got his flowers by being crowned Higher Impact Entertainment’s 2024 Mascot Training Champion on June 22, 2024 at the Woodlawn Lake Park Gym in San Antonio.

According to the press release, the camp featured 18 mascots vying for the championship belt as they were judged on skills, dedication and creativity.

In the end, Porky was named the winner because of consistent effort, charismatic performances, and ability to engage the audience.

"Porky demonstrated an extraordinary level of talent and dedication throughout the camp. Texas A&M-Kingsville is incredibly fortunate to have such a hardworking and committed performer representing them," said Jeromē Bartlett, Higher Impact Entertainment Owner and CEO, lead camp instructor and “Mascot Guru”. "Porky's energy, creativity, and enthusiasm were truly inspiring, and it’s clear that he has set a high standard for mascots everywhere."

In addition to Bartlett, attending mascots were able to take guidance from world-renowned entertainer Oscar Liendo Jr. and multiple pro sports mascots representing the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL, headlined by the Dallas Cowboys’ Rowdy and the Houston Texans’ Toro.
