KINGSVILLE (July 2, 2024) — Texas A&M University-Kingsville will have representation on the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE) Executive Board after Director of Career Engagement and Corporate Relations Ralph Leal was elected President-Elect this week.
According to an SoACE press release, Leal will guide SoACE initiatives to enhance collaboration among colleges, universities and employers. He also will promote the best practices in career engagement, expanding professional development opportunities for all members.
"I am honored and excited to serve as President-Elect of SoACE," Leal said. "I look forward to working with my fellow board members and strong member ranks to continue advancing our mission of supporting the career development and employer needs of students and alumni across our membership."
SoACE is a professional association dedicated to the career development and employment of college students and alumni in 15 southern United States. SoACE fosters collaboration among higher education institutions, employers, and government agencies to promote best practices and innovative solutions in career services and employment.
Leal’s term as President-Elect will be three years and will lead into the President and Past-President in the upcoming two years. He also will represent SoACE at other national and regional associations of colleges and employers during his leadership terms.
Since 2013, Leal has been a member of SoACE and has held several leadership roles within the organization.
