On Campus Events
- Conflict de-escalation strategies discussion presented by the Dean fo Students Office in MSUB 221, 2 pm, October 31. Snacks available.
- ITE will host alumnus Charles Benavidez, P.E., TxDOT San Antonio District Engineer, at 5 pm on November 4 in ENGC 275.
- The College of Engineering is hosting a block party on November 4, 11 am to 2 pm, in parking lot 18 (the small staff/faculty lot to the east of the Engineering Complex and west of Gross Hall). They will be serving barbecue chicken. We'd especially like to invite our freshmen to come out and meet the department chairs, faculty members, advisors, and other engineering students.
- The College of Arts and Sciences will host a National First Generation College Celebration Week (accessible flyer) on November 4-8. Activities will take place in several campus locations.

- Amtech Solutions is looking to fill a full-time structural engineering position in Corpus Christi (see Handshake).
- Urban Infraconstruction is looking for Summer 2025 interns (see Handshake).
- ABAM Engineers Inc. in Houston is looking for M.S. graduates for a civil design position related to site analysis, stormwater, and transportation.
- USDA NRCS is accepting applications for their Pathways Program (internship). See usajobs.gov.
- The Illinois Department of Transportation is currently hiring civil engineers.

Scholarships
- Applications for the San Antonio ACI Chapter Scholarship are due October 31.
- The Department of Defense offers a SMART scholarship for students pursuing STEM degrees. This comes with tuition, annual stipend, internship, and a guaranteed job post-graduation.
- The Texas Department of Transportation offers a Conditional Grant for engineering students. Deadline is April 1 annually.

- The Corpus Christi chapter of ASCE and several local firms are providing shadowing opportunities for students interested in visiting local engineering offices. Please email Dr. Bailey if you want to participate. Open to both CE and AE students.
- FE PREP COURSE AVAILABLE! Discounted PPI program available to students for $95. Each student will receive access to an electronic copy of PPI’s review manual, 2 attempts at a 110 question mock exam, and 6 months of access to online questions and other review material. - Thinking about graduate school? The fast-track program allows undergraduate students to take up to three classes that count for both undergraduate and graduate credit.
