Javelina Care Closet
Javelina Care Closet—Currently located in room 220 of the Memorial Student Union Building, is a combination professional clothing closet and a food and hygiene product pantry. The closet is a resource for students looking for professional clothing , school supplies, and food and hygiene products.
The clothing closet has a variety of professional clothing items to chose from, the school supply pantry has basic supplies such as scantrons, notebooks, pens, etc.. and the pantry and has a variety of fresh, refrigerated and frozen items, shelf-stable food (i.e. pasta, soup, etc.), hygiene products (i.e. deodorant, shampoo/conditioner, tampons/pads, tooth brushes/paste, etc.), and other dry goods (paper towels, laundry detergent, diapers/wipes, etc.).
Items are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and limits apply as demand dictates.
The purpose of this pantry is to aid currently enrolled students at Texas A&M University-Kingsville in the event of a short-term food and/or hygiene shortage. The Javelina Care Closet is a proud member of the College and University Food Bank Alliance. (Click here to visit the CUFBA website)
Hours of Operation
- Monday: 10:00 am - 1:30 pm, and 2:10 pm - 5:00 pm
- Tuesday: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
- Wednesday: 11:00 am - 12:50 pm, and 1:00 pm - 4:00pm
- Thursday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
If you are in need of professional clothing for interviews, internships, student teaching, or professional jobs post-graduation, please come to the Javelina Care Closet during our posted hours (see above).
If you need to visit the Care Closet outside of the published operating hours, please make an appointment by calling 361-593-3606 or stopping by the Memorial Student Union Building, room 306.
