Upcoming Events and Opportunities

1) TAMUK is hosting a USDA virtual hiring event on Thursday, February 25, from 9 am to 1 pm.  

2) A number of TAMUK alumni have recently contacted the department about available internship opportunities.  Email or for more information.

3) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a job opening in Port Isabel, TX.

4) USDA summer internships and full-time job opportunities are open!  Civil engineering students interested in soil, water, and environmental fields may find a good career fit with the USDA/NRCS.  Click for more information about USDA opportunities.

COVID 19 Information

1) Stay in touch with University updates related to the COVID 19 pandemic.  The Dean's Office is also providing updates for the College of Engineering.

2) Tutoring through the JESSC will be coordinated by Mr. Austin McCoy ( through Blackboard Collaborate.  Please send Mr. McCoy an email with your K-number and the name of the class for which you are requesting tutoring.  The subject line should state that it is a tutoring request and give the class name.

3) PAAC tutoring services are now offered online for a variety of math, science, and engineering courses. 

4) Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, all advising has been moved online.  Fillable forms are available through the Dean's Office for many common student requests.  Please contact your advisor directly for assistance with your schedule and advising.  You will need to be able to electronically sign your advising form(s).

1) FE PREP COURSE AVAILABLE! Discounted PPI program available to students for $95.  Each student will receive access to an electronic copy of PPI’s review manual, 2 attempts at a 110 question mock exam, and 6 months of access to online questions and other review material.  Interested students should contact Austin McCoy (

2) Thinking about graduate school?  The fast-track program allows undergraduate students to take up to three classes that count for both undergraduate and graduate credit.  For more information, speak to Dr. Choi ( or Dr. Aguiniga (  Graduate fellowship opportunities are available for talented undergraduates wanting to work on their M.S. in Civil Engineering at TAMUK.
