Texas A&M University-Kingsville

Office of Compliance

The Office of Compliance

What we do:

The Compliance Office serves a variety of functions at the university.  Primarily, our responsibilities include:

  • Facilitation of employee's complaints alleging illegal discrimination and related retaliation
  • Facilitation of employee or student complaints alleging discrimination on the basis of disability
  • Response to the requests for Public Information, made pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act
  • Facilitation of the university's review of complaints made to the Ethics Point Hotline
  • Oversight of the University Rules and Procedures
  • Oversight of the university's Title IX program, resources for a pregnant or parenting student, and education
  • Oversight of the university's Export Controls program and education
  • Liaison to The Texas A&M University System Office of General Counsel & university representative in legal matters
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements

What it is not:

The Compliance Office is not a general complaint center.  Workplace complaints, not alleging illegal discrimination or related retaliation should be filed appropriately with the Office of Human Resources, or pursuant to the Faculty Handbook, depending on the situation.

For students, formal complaint procedures can be found on-line in the current Texas A&M University-Kingsville Student Handbook. Informal complaints or concerns can be made verbally or in writing with individual offices on campus.
