Plan and Process

Texas A&M University Kingsville is launching a collaborative and intentional planning process to define the new vision and strategic priorities for Javelina Nation. Led by the Office of Performance Excellence and Strategy, the process will involve university stakeholders including:  students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni.

SCUP

Society for College and University Planning (SCUP)

Based on the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) Integrated Planning Model, the planning process is designed to facilitate effective implementation and evaluation of outcomes for continuous improvement.

Core Values, Mission Statement, Vision Statement

The first step in the development of the new strategic plan will be to examine and redefine the foundation of Javelina Nation’s culture:  the Mission, Vision, and Core Values.  The Mission Statement defines what the university is here to do.  The Vision Statement describes what the university aspires to achieve.  Finally, the Core Values are the characteristics that are crucial to how the university does its work.

The university has partnered with Brad Hunt of the WHY Group to facilitate interactive stakeholder sessions to design drafts of the new mission, vision, and core values.  Mr. Hunt is an experienced planning facilitator, working with agencies such as the City of San Antonio and the Alamo Colleges.  For more information on Brad Hunt, visit: http://whygroup.com/team/brad-hunt/

4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX)

The university will utilize Franklin Covey’s The 4 Disciplines of Execution® methodology as the framework for increasing strategic execution by creating a culture of high performance. University leaders engaged with 4DX consultants beginning in June 2023 to identify measurable goals and strategies which will form the basis of the new strategic plan.   For more information on the 4DX methodology, visit: https://www.franklincovey.com/the-4-disciplines/
