Welcome to the College of Education & Human Performance at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, home of Javelina Educators.

The College of Education & Human Performance has had a long storied tradition in preparing competent educators and administrators who serve not only in South Texas, but also the state and the nation. Today, the College has over 1,000 majors at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Our alumni have achieved great success in the classroom, athletic fields, and in administrative capacities.

The College offers six undergraduate and nine graduate programs, as well as two doctoral programs, through its three departments: Educational Leadership and Counseling, Health and Kinesiology, and Teacher & Bilingual Education. The undergraduate programs are accredited by the Texas Education Agency. Each program offers a rigorous curriculum in the classroom, as well in field experiences, where students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in authentic situations. These programs offer curricula that combine theory and field-based applications in which students and mentors work collaboratively in a highly productive environment. The College prides itself in providing students and faculty a challenging, nurturing educational environment which thrives on collaboration and communication.

The graduate programs offered in the College include the following: Adult Education, Bilingual Education, Counseling and Guidance, Early Childhood, English as a Second Language, Instructional Technology, Kinesiology, Reading, and Special Education. The College of Education & Human Performance at Texas A&M University-Kingsville is home to the first doctoral program in bilingual education in the United States, 37 years old now. Our Educational Leadership doctoral program has produced several local educators who now serve as principals, human resource directors, superintendents, and educational service region directors.

The College has built strong relationships and partnerships with area school districts and the local community. The College and its faculty are committed to serving the needs of our future educators with current, data-driven, technology-enhanced curricula and vigorous research. During the past year, the College acquired approximately $1.2 million in grants for research and development! With the help of our alumni and our own recruitment efforts, we expect to continue to increase the current growth in enrollment.

The College of Education & Human Performance honors and cherishes its legacy and strives to continue to uphold the Texas A&I and TAMUK traditions of excellence in education. I encourage you to visit our website which contains pertinent information about the College and the various programs. Be a Javelina Educator - be part of the rich tradition the Javelinas cherish in educating our youth today, our leaders tomorrow! Go Hogs!
