External Scholarships

External scholarships are privately funded scholarships that are sponsored by private donors, professional organizations, foundations, and many other sources outside of Texas A&M University-Kingsville. These scholarships are not directly affiliated with Texas A&M University-Kingsville and the recipients may or may not be Texas A&M-Kingsville students.  Scholarship recipients are selected by the external funder and funds are distributed to the student by the university, once the funds are received from the awarding entity. To optimize these resources for our students, external scholarship opportunities are posted in Javelina Scholarships and on our Facebook page.

Please note that Texas A&M University-Kingsville does not endorse or certify legitimacy of any external scholarship listing. Texas A&M University-Kingsville does not guarantee accuracy or the timeliness of information found at any of the external scholarship links. It is critical that you verify the information, particularly where deadlines are concerned.

Students receiving a scholarship from an outside agency must notify Student Financial Aid to have the scholarship posted to the student's account.

Donors may mail scholarship checks to:

  • Please include the Student ID (for example, KUABC123) and the award period (academic year)

Avoid Scholarship Scams

Make sure you are aware of financial scams when applying for external scholarships. Avoid scholarship organizations that charge a fee to help you find scholarships. Most legitimate scholarship search engines and applications are free and should not ask for personal information such as a Social Security number, credit card number, or banking information.
