KINGSVILLE (November 9, 2018) — The John E. Conner Museum at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will host a new exhibit, Fanciful Santas, which features the hand-created Santa Claus figurines created by Kingsville artist Peggy Westbrook.

Fanciful Santas opens in the museum’s west wing Thursday, Nov. 15, and continues through Saturday, Dec. 15. Westbrook creates whimsical Santa figurines from wooden bedposts, balustrades and other turned wooded objects.

With just her imagination and acrylic paints, Westbrook designs unique folk art figures, no two of which are exactly alike. Designed to bring a bit of holiday spirit to young and old alike, Fanciful Santas, features over 38 of her fun and colorful Santas created over the 48 years she has been making them.

The Conner Museum is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, and closed Sundays and most university holidays. Admission is free. For more information, call 361-593-2810.
