SFC Bland

     Sergeant First Class Jeremy A. Bland entered the Army in January of 2001.  He is a native of Fort Worth, Texas and completed Infantry One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, GA.  His assignments include 120mm Mortar Gunner, 3-7 Infantry, Fort Stewart, GA; Fire Direction Control (FDC), 3-7 Infantry, Fort Stewart, GA; Team Leader and Squad Leader, 1-24 Infantry, Fort Wainwright, AK; 120mm Mortar Squad Leader, 5-1 Cavalry, Fort Wainwright, AK; 81mm and 120mm Mortar Squad Leader, 1-61 Cavalry, Fort Campbell, KY; Drill Sergeant and Senior Drill Sergeant, 1-19 Infantry, Fort Benning, GA; Mortar Platoon Sergeant, 2-505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, NC; and Senior Military Science Instructor, Javelina Battalion, Texas A&M University, Kingsville, Texas. 

     He has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom three times serving in numerous positions.  He also deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as a Mortar Squad Leader and back to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve serving as the Senior Mortar Trainer for Iraqi Forces and as a Battle Captain in the Tactical Operations Center. 

     He has completed his Associates Degree in General Studies from American Military University and is working towards his Bachelors in History from the same University.  He is a graduate of Basic Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, and the Maneuver-Senior Leaders Course as well as Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School, Infantry Mortar Leaders Course, Cadre and Faculty Development Course, Master Educators Course, and Army Combatives Level 1 and 2 as well as the Combatives Instructor Course. 

     His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (eight OLC’s), the Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC’s), Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 Service Stars), Iraqi Campaign Medal (4 Service Stars), Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal (1 Service Star), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 5), NATO Medal, the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Parachutists Badge, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. 

     He is married to the former Mary Beth Driscoll of Fort Worth, TX.  They have one son, Henry (1).
