The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering received a grant from National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and is starting to offer a Manufacturing Standards and Standardization Certificate Program for graduate students and industrial professionals with the support from the NIST grant. The certificate program has been approved and will be shown in your transcript if you get it. In order to get the certificate, students need to completed three of the following courses (9 credit hours) with A or B grades

–      IEEN 5332-Manufacturing System Design

–      IEEN 5333-Six Sigma and ISO Standards

–      One of IEEN 5303-Standards of Product Design and Manufacturing or MEEN 5301-Advanced Manufacturing
