Madhurababu Kunta received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University-College Station. He was appointed to the faculty at TAMUK Citrus Center, Weslaco, in 2015. Before joining the TAMUK faculty, he worked as Research Associate and Project Director at the Citrus Center and teaches horticulture and plant biotechnology. Madhurababu supervises a USDA-certified diagnostic laboratory and his research interests include plant pathology, pathogen identification and diagnostics, biotechnology and disease management.
