Data Analytics and Entrepreneurship: A Binational (U.S. – Brazil) Faculty and Student Exchange Program.

“Data Analytics and Entrepreneurship: A Binational (U.S. - Brazil) Faculty and Student Exchange Program” is a comprehensive exchange program that brings together Texas A&M University Kingsville (TAMUK), Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industria (SENAI) and the Instituto Federal Goiano (IFG) in the development and implementation of an innovative faculty and student exchange program in Data Analytics and entrepreneurship applications focused on Water, Energy and Agriculture. Students completing this exchange program will be able to identify strategic opportunities for change that are in congruence with globalization, urbanization, and a future interconnected economy.

 

Key Activities

The proposed program is an ambitious and innovative faculty and student exchange program with a strong emphasis in innovation and entrepreneurship, which incorporates several elements needed to become a truly transformational learning experience by immersing students in an intensive transdisciplinary-learning environment abroad that encompasses different key components such as: i) a faculty-led study abroad course, ii) idea generation and concept development to propose different solutions to a problem, iii) team leadership activities, iv) students and faculty research groups, and v) cultural activities and technical visits.

 

Northbound activities (Kingsville, TX)

  • A total of 4 students and 2 faculty will travel to TAMUK
  • 10 students will participate in the online class on Data Analytics and Entrepreneurship
  • 10 students and 4 faculty will participate in the research groups, campus visits, lab activities
  • 1 new faculty-led study abroad course will be developed

Southbound (Brazil)

  • 6 students and 5 faculty from TAMUK will travel to Rio Verde, Brazil
  • 10 Students and 5 faculty will participate in the faculty-Led study abroad course
  • 10 students and 5 faculty will participate in the different inter-cultural activities
