Message from the Program Coordinator

Welcome to the Counseling Program!

 Doctor Liang

All prospective counseling student inquiries, please call our hotline at 361-593-3352 or email Ms. Leonor at velen.leonor@students.tamuk.edu.

As the program coordinator, I thank you for visiting our program website and welcome you to apply to our counseling program through ApplyTexas.org ! I encourage you to apply as early as you can due to the limited cap for each class. We do not set an application deadline nor require GRE/MAT. All of our classes are taught 100% online.  Students need to find the site(s) at their preferred locations for practicum and internship client hours. Typically, it takes 2.5 years to complete our CACREP-Accredited 60-hour Clinical Mental Health Counseling (EDCM) program. All of our full-time faculty are Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisors (LPC-S). Most of our courses are taught through asynchronous format; thus, you can log onto Blackboard to review the course materials whenever you are available.  Our clinical courses (such as Practicum, Internship, Group Counseling, Basic Sandtray Therapy, Advanced Sandtray Therapy, etc) are offered virtually through Zoom after 6pm.  Our Spring and Fall semesters are 16 weeks, and all Summer semesters are 5 week, except for the 10-week Summer Practicum, if offered. Feel free to email inquiries to our approachable academic advisors. We are here to support your success!
