Student Loan Information
The federal Direct Loan program is provided and administered by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE). Student loan borrowing cannot exceed the cost of attendance, nor may you borrow over the annual and lifetime aggregate loan limits that are set for the Direct Loan program. The results of your FAFSA will determine the type(s) of loan you are offered. The Department of Education will assess an origination fee on each loan upon disbursement.
ATTENTION: First time loan borrowers are required to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling (EC) at www.studentaid.gov. Failure to complete all loans requirements will prevent disbursement.
**New ** Annual Student Loan Acknowledgement (previously called the “Informed Borrowing Confirmation” process) was implemented in late April 2020 by DOE. This new process requires student and parent borrowers to log in to StudentAid.gov each year to review and acknowledge the total amount currently owed in federal student loans.
