Transfer Students

Javelina Regents' Transfer Scholarship


Texas A&M University-Kingsville is proud to offer the Javelina Regents’ Transfer Scholarship. This scholarship is part of Texas A&M System Board of Regents’ and Texas A&M University-Kingsville’s commitment to making college more affordable for first-generation, low-income college students.  This program is designed to assist first-generation resident undergraduate students in achieving their educational goals.  Beginning Fall 2021, transfer students who receive the Javelina Regents’ Scholarship are eligible to receive up to three years (six long semesters) or until graduation, whichever occurs sooner, provided they meet renewal requirements.

 

 Application Process

No application necessary. Students must be admitted to the University and meet eligibility criteria. Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

 Initial Eligibility

To be considered for the Javelina Regents’ Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a first-generation college student
  • Be admitted as a new undergraduate transfer student
  • Be a Texas resident
  • Be admitted to a degree-seeking program and working on your first bachelor’s degree
  • Have a valid Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or TASFA (if not eligible to complete a FAFSA) on file
  • Have a total household income of $40,000 or less as verified through the FAFSA or TASFA
  • Enroll for at least 12 semester credit hours each semester

 

Continued Eligibility

Transfer students who receive the Javelina Regents’ Scholarship are eligible to receive up to three years (six long semesters) or until graduation, whichever occurs sooner, provided they meet renewal requirements.

To receive the Javelina Regents’ Scholarship on a continuing basis, you must:

  • Enroll for at least 12 semester credit hours each semester
  • Continue to demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA or TASFA
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements
