Who I am

I came to Texas more than 30 years ago from Illinois where I grew up on a farm. I have been a Chicago Cubs fan for as long as I can remember. I earned an associate’s degree from Illinois Valley Community College and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Eastern Illinois University. I previously spent 16 years as news editor for The Nueces County Record-Star (previously The Robstown Record).

What I do at Texas A&M-Kingsville

I like to think of myself as a storyteller. I tell the stories of the faculty, staff and students of Texas A&M-Kingsville. I also work directly with the media and help plan events. But, mostly, I am a storyteller.

My Texas A&M-Kingsville story

I enjoy being a part of this ever-changing world that is Texas A&M-Kingsville. No day is ever the same. I work on a beautiful campus with thousands of wonderful people and love every minute of it. I am learning to broaden my skills by listening to my younger co-workers as the world of social media changes my job almost on a daily basis. I’m not a football fan except when the Javelinas are playing and I never miss a home Javelina basketball game.
