This link will open a new window, where the Instructor Grading the Exam will enter all relevant names and then start the routing. The Instructor Grading the Exam fills in their assigned information and signs, then the form will route to all others entered.  Contact our office if your College or Department needs assistance or has questions.

Master's - Courses Only Requirements

GS-105 Master's Degree Comprehensive Examination Report (Courses Only) (DocuSign digital signature routing)

This link will open a new window, where the student will enter all relevant names and then start the routing. The student fills in their assigned information and the Graduate Coordinator is most often the person who will fill in the rest of the form. Contact our office if your College or Department operates in a different manner.

Master's - Research Project Requirements

GS-103 Research Project Final Submission and Comprehensive Exam Report (DocuSign digital signature routing)

This link will open a new window, where the student will enter all relevant names and then start the routing. The project supervisor will fill in the rest, and it will route to all who need to sign.

GS-110 Turnitin Report(DocuSign digital signature routing)

This is required for a thesis, research project, and doctoral candidates. It allows for the remote submission of the Turnitin Report, along with the faculty mentor's signature and any required explanation for similarity rates equal to or greater than 15%. There is an upload button for the faculty member to use to insert the Turnitin Report PDF. 

Master's - Thesis Requirements

GS-100 Thesis Proposal Submission Form (DocuSign digital signature routing)

This is required for thesis master's candidates. This link will open a new window, where the student will enter all relevant names and then start the routing. The student will attach their abstract page and fill in their assigned information. The committee chair will fill in the rest, and then it will route for the rest of the signatures. The formal signature page is not required for the proposal.

Students, click on the above link to submit your manuscript. Fill in the information on the digital form and upload your WORD file. There is a 1GB file size limit so keep photos and other graphics between 150 and 300 dpi.

GS-101 Thesis Final Defense & Comprehensive Examination Report Form (DocuSign digital signature routing)

This is required for candidates following the thesis master's degree path. It includes the Comprehensive Exam results as well as documents of the Thesis Defense. This link will open a new window, where the student will enter all relevant names and then start the routing. The committee chair is usually the one to enter the exam and defense Pass or Fail information

GS-106 Copyright form (DocuSign digital signature routing)

This link will open in a new window. The student will fill in the sections assigned to them, and the Committee Chair will sign off on it. This form will automatically route to the Jernigan Library Tech Services division when complete, to officially log the copyright information.

  • Instructions Concerning the Preparation of Theses and Dissertations (Manuscript Manual) – updated 09/07/2023
    • This document is the standard by which your thesis or dissertation will be reviewed to determine if it adheres to the quality control requirements for publication.  Use it to determine how to format, prepare, and arrange your document appropriately. The Committee and Student will need to verify that the document is set up correctly prior to submitting to the College of Graduate Studies for review and publication approval.  When using a journal as a formatting guide, if the journal does not specify rules, this format will supersede the journal.  If using a journal, you are required to submit the formatting guidelines to Graduate Studies.

  • Basic Thesis and Dissertation Microsoft Word Template. (Manuscript Template) – updated 06/07/2024
    • This Microsoft Word template is a tool intended to be a guide to assist in basic formatting for your thesis or dissertation manuscript. 

      It is to be used while simultaneously referencing the Instructions Concerning the Preparation of Theses and Dissertations, found above. 

      The template is provided to assist with the process, but is not a substitute for checking your own formatting and adherence to the rules set forth in the Instructions Concerning the Preparation of Theses and Dissertations.  The Committee and Student will still need to verify that the document is set up correctly prior to submitting it to the College of Graduate Studies for review and publication approval.  When using a journal as a formatting guide, if the journal does not specify rules, this format will supersede the journal.  If using a journal, you are required to submit the formatting guidelines to Graduate Studies.

  • All Manuscripts Margin Template

    • This document is a breakdown of some examples of errors and correct usage. Please utilize these examples to assist you when writing your manuscript.
  • University Writing Center
    • We offer free writing support to TAMUK students, faculty, and staff. Accomplished graduate and undergraduate students make up our staff of dedicated tutors. We work with writers through all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming and organizing to revising and polishing. While face-to-face, in-person appointments are the ideal way to experience our services, students (especially distance learners) can also make online appointments.
    • The Writing Center is able to work with the student on a section of the manuscript, to show how -to proceed for the rest of the document.

  • Research Compliance Information
    • Some research will require a Research Compliance protocol to be in place before activity can begin. Working with Human Subjects, Vertebrate Animals, Biohazards, and items or activities covered under Export Control Guidance will need to be reviewed. Appropriate training will be required. Students require a Supervising Faculty Mentor to file their protocol and to act as the immediate oversight for the project, students of any level cannot be a Principal Investigator for a research project. They are listed as Student Investigators. Please contact  Research Compliance (361-593-3344) to see if you need to have a protocol submitted.
  • Graduate Council
    • The Texas A&M University-Kingsville Graduate Council is charged with the overview of all Graduate Affairs. It is the responsibility of the Graduate Council to review all proposals for graduate degree programs and courses and, at its option, existing programs and to review the criteria for membership on the Graduate Faculty.
    • Furthermore, the council is to establish admission standards, standards for the continuation of graduate students, and residency requirements. Finally, the council is to consider any other matters relevant to the College of Graduate Studies.
  • The Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED) questionnaire
    • This questionnaire can be completed either by web or hard copy. Eligible respondents are research doctorate graduates from U.S. universities who have completed their degree during the eligibility periods below.
  • Characteristics of Doctoral Programs
    • The Characteristics of Doctoral Programs were developed by the Coordinating Board's Graduate Education Advisory Committee (GEAC) to provide a snapshot of doctoral programs offered by Texas public universities and health-related institutions.
