Environmental Engineering Challenge Scholarship
The Environmental Engineering Department awards scholarships from sponsors such as (1) Society for Mining Metallurgy and Exploration Inc.(SMME), the South Texas Section of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME), (2) Lower Rio Grande Valley TPDES Stormwater Task Force, (3) Jim Cooper Memorial Scholarship Endowment, the Dotterweich College of Engineering, and the College of Graduate Studies. These scholarships are typically for an amount of $1,000 and entitle the student to achieve in-state tuition rates. The first deadline for submission of scholarship applications is April 15th. The first meeting of the Scholarship Committee is on or about May 1st, and it also meets at several times during the year at times to be determined.

Graduate Assistantships
The Department also offers research assistantships and stipends to qualified students through faculty research contracts and the Institute for Sustainable Energy and the Environment and the Graduate School. Please contact the individual faculty to inform them of your interest.
University Scholarships
Additional scholarship opportunities are available to admitted students through the generosity of Texas A&M University-Kingsville supporters. Admitted students can log on to Javelina Scholarships to apply.
In Javelina Scholarships, students can view available scholarships, complete scholarship applications, accept scholarship awards, access external resources and more. Students are only required to complete the general scholarship application once each year.
