Respondus LockDown Browser is a specific locked browser for taking tests in Blackboard. It is downloaded by students separately via Blackboard course site and prevents students from:

a) Printing;

b) Copying;

c) Going to another website;

d) Accessing other programs during an assessment.

When students are required to take a test via a LockDown browser they will not be able to take the test with a standard web browser. LockDown Browser is only used for taking tests. It is not used in other areas of Blackboard and is not intended to replace other browsers for regular Blackboard use. Respondus Monitor is an extension of a LockDown Browser with the video channel.
