Student Support

Digital Learning is the north star at the Center for Academic Technology. Over the years, we have dedicated ourselves to providing exceptional support for an overall campus community. Specifically for students, our offerings include:

  1. How to use Blackboard courses: Blackboard is our core learning management system. Every student is automatically enrolled in How to use Blackboard courses. These cover not only Blackboard but also introduce students to all the other essential technologies used at TAMUK, such as Zoom, Respondus and TurnitIn. Whether you’re an undergraduate or a graduate student, these courses provide a solid foundation for navigating our digital learning environment.
  2. Virtual Zoom Rooms: To facilitate effective communication and collaboration, students have their own virtual Zoom rooms. These personalized spaces allow for seamless online meetings, discussions, and group work. Whether it’s a study group, project team, or an individual meeting with a professor, Zoom rooms enhance the student experience.
  3. Tech Workshops: Our graduate students who serve as Teaching Assistants (TAs) receive additional benefits. Throughout the semester, they can participate in various tech workshops tailored to enhance teaching practices at TAMUK. These workshops cover advanced topics, such as integrating AI into curriculum, and technology-specific skills such as teaching in interactive classrooms, empowering TAs to excel in their responsibilities.

Any iTech Help and questions about TAMUK technologies can also be answered by submitting a ticket online via itsupport.tamuk.edu or contacting the ITS Helpdesk at: 361-593-HELP (4357).
