Minor and Certificate Options for Civil and Architectural Engineers
Making the Most of Your Time at TAMUK
Effective Fall 2024, the B.S. AEEN and B.S. CEEN degrees offer more opportunities for customization than ever before! Our undergraduate degrees have been reduced to 125 SCH of core knowledge requirements to ensure all our graduates are job-ready. Students completing the B.S. CEEN and B.S. AEEN core programs should be prepared to take the F.E. exam prior to graduation (in Civil Engineering and Other Disciplines, respectively).
In addition to offering a solid foundation for engineering practice in 125 SCH, the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering has added 5 credentials that can be earned with 1 or 2 additional classes (3-6 SCH). B.S. + Certificate options require 128 SCH, while the B.S. + Minor option requires 131 SCH. Our revised curriculum offers the flexibility for students to earn one or more additional credentials prior to graduation. (Each additional credential will require the completion of additional SCH.) Students who are passionate about one specialization within civil or architectural engineering are strongly encouraged to earn a certificate / minor that supports their professional growth in this area.
Certificate and Minor Options
The following certificates and minors can be earned by all TAMUK students but have been designed to enhance the job-ready skills of B.S. CEEN and B.S. AEEN students:
