Certificate in Public Works

The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering offers an undergraduate level, transcripted Public Works Certificate.  While all TAMUK students are eligible to complete the certificate, it is designed to enhance the job-ready skills of students in the B.S. Civil Engineering program who wish to pursue careers in the public works sector.  Public works involves the design of transportation, drainage, and water / wastewater treatment systems.  Job opportunities exist in all levels of government (city to federal) as well as in private consulting firms that work with government entities.
