President's Undergraduate Research Scholars
About
The President’s Undergraduate Research Scholars Program is a project designed to increase the number of individuals conducting undergraduate research. The grant program will provide an opportunity for undergraduate students to engage in high level research with a faculty mentor in preparation for graduate education. TAMUK is making a profound difference in the educational, cultural and economic development of the communities we serve, and we are excited about the opportunities this program can offer.
Eligibility:
Students are eligible to apply if the applicant is a TAMUK student, who is a junior or a senior, has at least a 3.25 GPA, and has a sincere interest in research.
To apply, please read the President’s Undergraduate Research Scholars Program brochure and submit the following documents to College Hall Room 230.
- Application for the Program
- Current Academic transcript
- A list of academic and extracurricular, honors, distinctions and Scholarships
- A list of memberships in academic organizations and participation in academic activities
- Previous research experience, if any
- Two letters of recommendation, one from a faculty member and one personal
- Personal essay 300-words
- Copy of social security card and driver’s license
- Copy of Academic Degree plan
